Group IZ*ONE has written a new record in K-Pop history.
On the 24th, Hanteo Chart, who operates the world’s one-and-only real-time music chart, officially counted and announced that the Initial Chodong (first week) sales amount of IZ*ONE's ‘BLOOM*IZ’ album recorded 356,313 copies. Released on February 17th, IZ*ONE's 'BLOOM*IZ' album had its Initial Chodong sales period from February 17th to 23rd.
Through the latest release, IZ*ONE has set a new Initia Chodong sales amount among the female artists in K-Pop history. The previous highest record was held by TWICE's 'Feel Special' album, which was sold 154,028 copies in the first week.
According to the daily sales data provided by Hanteo Chart, IZ*ONE's 1st Studio Album 'BLOOM*IZ' was sold 183,975 copies on February 17th, the first day of the release, then 79,061 copies on the 18th, 15,529 copies on the 19th, 21,383 copies on the 20th, 38,979 copies on the 21st, 11,055 copies on the 22nd, and 6,331 copies on the 23rd, the last day of the Initial Chodong sales aggregation.
As such, 'BLOOM*IZ' album set a new record in female artists' Initial Chodong sales that was previously set by 'Feel Special' by more than 30,000 copies on the first day. In the end, IZ*ONE has demonstrated the wide gap of more than 200,000 copies compared to the previous record and taken the lead in the Initial Chodong record among female artists.
According to Hanteo Chart, IZ*ONE also has previously set a new record with the group's 2nd Mini Album 'HEART*IZ' in April of last year. Compared to the debut album 'COLOR*IZ' that was released on October 29th of 2018 and was sold 80,822 copies in the first week, 'HEART*IZ' demonstrated the growth rate of 163% and recorded the Initial Chodong sales of 132,109 copies. Stepping one step forward, IZ*ONE showed the growth rate of 270% with the 'BLOOM*IZ' album in Initial Chodong sales compared to the 'HEART*IZ' album.
The new record in Initial Chodong sales among K-Pop female artist set by IZ*ONE with the 'HEART*IZ' album last year was then broken by BLACKPINK's 'KILL THIS LOVE' and TWICE's 'FANCY YOU' albums, both of which were released in April of 2019, and then yet again by TWICE's 'Feel Special' album released in September of 2019. After that, IZ*ONE has sat once again on the throne of the top of the Initial Chodong record among female artists with the 'BLOOM*IZ' album after 10 months.
