Started publication on April 1st of 2019, Hanteo News has been specializing in various K-Pop topics centered around articles based on chart data in the past year. Celebrating the 1st year anniversary of the publication, we looked into the article and artist that recorded the most views among all the articles published on Hanteo News from April 1st of 2019 to March 31st of 2020. Through this, we would like to look back on Hanteo News' past history and K-Pop topics.

#1. Baekhyun's topping the Weekly Physical Album Chart recorded the most views

Among all the articles published in Korean, English, and Spanish on Hanteo News in the past year, the article that recorded the most views was the English article on 'CITY LIGHTS,' the solo album released by Baekhyun of EXO, placing 1st on the 2nd week of July's Weekly Physical Album Chart in 2019. At the time, Baekhyun's 'CITY LIGHTS' album became a hot topic as the album recorded the sales of 267,175 copies just within the first day of the release. Hanteo Chart reported that 'CITY LIGHTS' sold a total of 306,472 albums in 5 days of the release (counted the sales up to the 14th), surpassing the milestone of 300,000 copies. The Chart officially counted announced that the album recorded the Initial Chodong (first week of release) sales amount of 380,769 copies in the end.

Following this article, the article on SEVENTEEN's topping the September's Monthly Physical Album Chart (Article title '[Monthly Physical Album Chart: September] SEVENTEEN’s 3rd Studio Album ‘An Ode’ Places 1st') placed 2nd, and the article on Baekhyun's topping the 3rd week of July's Weekly Physical Album Chart (Article title '[Weekly Chart: 3rd week of July] ‘City Lights’ by EXO’s BAEKHYUN 1st place') placed 3rd, placing Baekhyun's articles in both 1st and 3rd in the views ranking.

Among the articles that were published in Korean on Hanteo News, the article on ONE IT, the fandom of group X1, calling on the formation of a new group (Article title '엑스원(X1)의 팬덤 원잇(ONE IT), 엑스원 새그룹 결성 지지 캠페인 펼쳐' - English version also available here) recorded the most views.

As the suspicion on manipulation arose on 'Produce X 101,' X1, the project group that was formed through this program, decided on disbandment on January 6th. To the sudden news of disbandment, X1's global fandom ONE IT had started a campaign supporting the formation of a new group of X1. In order to support the campaign, the fandom also placed a media ad on COEX located in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.

Among the Spanish articles of Hanteo News, the coverage on ATEEZ's showcase (Article title '[Showcase] ATEEZ realiza un showcase por el lanzamiento de su 1er álbum de estudio 'TREASURE EP.FIN : All To Action'' - English version also available here) ranked as the most viewed article.

ATEEZ held a media showcase celebrating the release of the 1st Studio Album, 'TREASURE EP.FIN : All To Action' on October 8th last year. Demonstrating the powerful performance and garnered the global fans' attention with the title track 'WONDERLAND,' ATEEZ reached the Initial Chodong sales amount of 55,078 copies with the 'TREASURE EP.FIN : All To Action' album at the time and reached the growth rate of 122% compared to the previous album.
