[K-Trend Report] This Is How K-Pop Fans Vote 🗳️

The curtains closed on the 22nd General Elections on April 10th. This election caught the eye particularly because of the diverse and eye-catching voting certification shots uploaded on SNS to encourage voting. From voting certification drawings by messenger emoticon artists to fan-made voting certification fan art and photo cards, cute and lovely voting certification shots colored the SNS landscape. In this K-Trend Report, we aim to explore the innovative voting certification shots by K-Pop fans.

The first type of voting certification shot is the voting paper type. It involves choosing a voting topic related to the artist and marking a paper that resembles a voting paper. Voting topics related to artists revolved around themes like "The person in the team who is most like OO" or "The artist is? OO". Marking with an actual stamp made these shots feel more real and grabbed attention.

The second type of voting certification shot is the pledge type. This type is characterized by using a stamp on a contract, similar to stamping a pledge. K-Pop fans transformed it into a pledge of everlasting love for their favorite artist and stamped it. This witty type of voting certification shot was noted for simultaneously certifying participation in voting and declaring love for their favorite.

The third is the favorite name creation type. This type of voting certification shot uses a round-shaped stamp to represent the Korean character 'ㅇ'. The last type is the drawing type, which even Minji from NewJeans participated in. On April 10th, Minji uploaded a picture of a teddy bear holding a "Voting Done" paper on NewJeans' official Instagram story. This picture was known to be drawn by Minji herself. Among K-Pop fans, many couldn't print the cute voting certification images shared on SNS, so they either drew them themselves or created their own drawings. This type allows expressing one's individuality with a one-of-a-kind voting certification shot.

The 22nd General Elections were among those with the most diverse voting certification shots seen by K-Pop fans.
