ENHYPEN reorganize into six-member lineup… HEESEUNG to pursue solo activities

BELIFT LAB: “A decision that respects both ENHYPEN and HEESEUNG… expecting a greater leap forward”

ENHYPEN will reorganize the team into a six-member lineup consisting of JUNGWON, JAY, JAKE, SUNGHOON, SUNOO, and NI-KI. HEESEUNG will separate from the team and pursue activities as a solo artist, according to an announcement made by their agency BELIFT LAB on the 10th.

Through the global superfans platform Weverse, BELIFT LAB stated, “We have been considering and discussing the direction ENHYPEN should move toward and their next goals,” adding, “The members had in-depth conversations about the future each of them envisions and the direction of the team. In that process, we confirmed that the musical direction HEESEUNG pursues is clear, and we decided to respect it.”

It marks another stage of growth and expansion as an artist, as well as a challenge toward new dreams. HEESEUNG shared, “Thanks to the members with whom I shared countless emotions, and ENGENE (ENGENE, fandom name) who always filled every empty space, I was able to take steps closer to dreams that once felt out of reach,” adding, “I’m working hard on an album so I can meet you all again soon. I will move forward while always keeping ENGENE’s love in my heart.”

BELIFT LAB added, “HEESEUNG did not want to put only his own ambitions first within the team, and the other members also showed great consideration for him,” expressing hope that “this decision by the company, made with those factors in mind, will become an opportunity for both the group ENHYPEN and solo artist HEESEUNG to make a new leap forward.”

Meanwhile, ENHYPEN debuted in November 2020. Last year, they achieved their first “triple million-seller” with their second full-length album ‘ROMANCE : UNTOLD’ and successfully completed their world tour ‘WALK THE LINE’, which captivated approximately 676,000 audiences worldwide. Based on these achievements, ENHYPEN received a total of five grand prizes (Daesang) at major award ceremonies including ‘MAMA’, ‘THE AWARDS’, ‘ASEA’, and ‘Hanteo Music Awards’.

We understand that this news may be difficult for all fans to accept in the same way. Nevertheless, we ask for your generous understanding that this decision was made for the future of both ENHYPEN and HEESEUNG.

First of all, many ENGENE must have been very surprised to hear this news, and I imagine many of you have questions after hearing this sudden announcement.

So I wanted to share my thoughts directly with ENGENE.

The six years I’ve spent have been filled with moments so overwhelming and precious that they cannot be fully expressed in words.

Thanks to the members with whom I shared countless emotions, and to ENGENE who always filled every empty space, I was able to take steps closer to dreams that once felt out of reach.

Those times will remain some of the most shining moments of my life that I will never forget.

Without ever forgetting those moments, I want to continue being someone who supports ENHYPEN more than anyone else.

While sharing the works I had created with the company, we spent a long time discussing with many people about the best way to present them.

After thinking deeply for a long time, I made a big decision to approach ENGENE with a better version of myself following the direction the company suggested.

As ENGENE already know, I have continued working on personal projects and devoted a great deal of time hoping to share them with you someday.

There were so many things I wanted to show you, but I also didn’t want to put only my own ambitions first within the team.

I understand your worries and the many conversations surrounding this situation. I’m preparing hard so I can meet you all again soon.

My desire to return with a better version of myself is more sincere than anyone’s.

Because ENGENE have always given endless love and affection to someone as imperfect as me, I also feel very sorry knowing that you must be surprised and worried.

At the same time, I believe those feelings come from how much you care about me.
