[HT On-Site] “We’re Still Underdogs”… KISS OF LIFE Aims for First Music Show Win (Full)

KISS OF LIFE (hereafter KIOF) has returned to the K-pop scene as “hot girls” on the 6th.

The group held a media showcase for their second single Who is she on the afternoon of the 6th at Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Marking their first comeback in about 10 months since the mini album [224], KISS OF LIFE is stepping into a new chapter. Confident as ever on stage, the members expressed their intention to continue a path that is distinctly “KIOF-like.”

The title track Who is she is a song that reinterprets early 2000s dance pop with a modern touch. Julie shared, “I love the 2000s style, and the repetitive beat really gets your heart racing. I couldn’t wait to dance to it on stage,” while Natty added, “It’s a track where we can showcase powerful performance.”

When asked how to describe the song, Belle said, “‘Who is she’—everyone asks that question at least once, like ‘Who is she?’ or ‘Who are you?’ We want to answer that through our performance. We aim to be a team that explains itself just by being on stage.”

They also revealed their bold goal for this comeback:
“We want to rank No.1 on music charts and win first place on music shows.”

Julie added, “‘Who is she’ is a phrase that international fans would find fun. We hope global fans join the challenge and enjoy the song itself.”

The group also emphasized their “beginner’s mindset.”

Ahead of their third debut anniversary, Haneul said, “Since debut, we’ve always told ourselves not to lose our beginner’s mindset as KISS OF LIFE. I think that mindset is ultimately the best approach.”

Julie added, “Three years can feel both short and long, but it’s an important time. We wanted to remind the public of our passion, love, and sincerity for music.”

The Who is she music video portrays KISS OF LIFE as “underdogs” defined by others. The members explained why they chose this concept.

Julie said, “We chose the phrase ‘underdog’ because from the beginning, we wanted to show that it’s okay not to be perfect, to grow while embracing uncertainty and instability. It aligned with our desire to return to our roots.”

When asked about their current position in the industry, they responded, “We believe there’s always room to grow. We’re ambitious and dream big, so we still think we have a long way to go.”

Belle added, “When I think of what defines KIOF, the word ‘freedom’ comes to mind. Not just our own freedom on stage, but we hope people who watch us can also feel a sense of inner freedom.”

She also expressed confidence, saying, “Many artists are making comebacks in April, and we’re excited to promote alongside them. Our new release is a genre that’s hard to find in the current market.”

Since debuting in 2023, KISS OF LIFE has continuously expanded their musical spectrum, captivating audiences. With this new release prepared with renewed focus, the group is expected to take another leap forward.
