aespa WINTER shared her thoughts on the title track ‘LEMONADE’ from the group’s new album.

aespa held a press conference for the release of its second full-length album ‘LEMONADE’ at the Grand Ballroom of Sofitel Ambassador Seoul on the 28th. On this day, WINTER expressed her affection for the modifier “steel-sour-sweet,” which fans had given them.

Regarding the title track ‘LEMONADE,’ WINTER introduced it by saying, “I think it is the song that best captures our own wit,” adding, “Like the saying, ‘When life gives me lemons, I’ll make lemonade,’ it contains the ambition that no matter what trials and crises come my way, I will grind them up and drink them.” As for the charm of the song, she said, “The bass really stayed in my memory, and I got a strong impression from it,” adding, “Overall, it has a cool feel, so it is a good song that fits the seasonal timing of summer.” She continued, “Rather than a steel taste, I think it may be closer to a sour taste, but after the highlight medley was released, fans called it steel-sour-sweet,” adding, “The steel taste was also a modifier fans came up with, and I really like this modifier too.”

GISELLE said, “I think the biggest charm of LEMONADE is its message,” adding, “This saying is also a mindset I usually pursue, and the hook is very catchy and memorable.” NINGNING introduced the song by saying, “It suits the members’ voices so well, and it is an addictive song where the hook part in particular keeps coming to mind.”

From a performance perspective, KARINA shared, “If WDA was very hip-hop and had a feel that was more about feeling it than following along, LEMONADE has choreography that makes you want to follow along,” adding, “It is a song that rides an upbeat rhythm, so I think it will be good to listen to when you want to lift the mood.”

Regarding the choreography, WINTER said, “In line with the mood of the song, there is also a refreshing feel, and the points are centered on catchy choreography,” adding, “I think it will be easier to follow along than WDA, and since there is choreography that feels refreshing, I hope you dance along with us in a cool way this summer.” She added, “It is choreography anyone can do.”

NINGNING said, “LEMONADE is a very sour drink, but to aespa, it is only a cheerful drink, so to bring out that feeling, I recorded the part after the verse in a playful way,” adding, “There is a Spanish part this time, and I recorded it while continuously using a translator and checking the pronunciation.”

Regarding the collaboration version with Becky G, KARINA said, “Her powerful rap and our vocals went really well together,” adding, “I think it would be so good to listen to while driving when you want to let yourself go.” She drew laughter by adding, “But you have to drive safely.”
