TWICE successfully wrapped up their Kyocera Dome Osaka concert in Japan, thrilling 100,000 fans, and pre-released their new track “ENEMY” today (30th).
TWICE held their solo concert as part of their sixth world tour <THIS IS FOR> on July 26–27 at Kyocera Dome Osaka in Japan. It marked their return to meet local fans about a year after their July 2024 concert at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa, Japan, where they made history as the first-ever overseas female artist to perform there.
This tour opened all seats in the venues at each stop, utilizing a 360-degree setup with no designated front of the stage, offering a fully immersive concert experience and presenting a new direction in the concert scene. About 100,000 fans gathered over the two days to witness TWICE’s concert of overwhelming scale, and the vibrant performances received explosive cheers. The stage also featured surprise performances of the title track “ENEMY,” which shares the name with their 6th full Japanese album to be officially released on August 27, as well as “Like 1,” which was written by JIHYO, further elevating audience satisfaction.
At midnight on the 30th, the audio and music video for “ENEMY,” which was first unveiled on the Kyocera Dome Osaka stage, were officially released, continuing the excitement. The new song “ENEMY” carries the message: “Even if you fall multiple times, rise again and again. In the end, the wall you must overcome is yourself.” The music video portrays the journey of facing oneself as they are, overcoming inner conflicts, and blooming steadfastly. Anticipation is high for the new full-length album, set to release locally about a year after their previous fifth full album “DIVE” in July last year. Particularly noteworthy is that JIHYO directed the overall concept of the new album, including the visual concept, tracklist, and music video, adding a special touch. A work infused with JIHYO’s sensibility is expected to captivate fans and deliver a powerful impact.
Recently, TWICE has been actively promoting on a global scale through the release of their fourth full album “THIS IS FOR,” the launch of the tour of the same name, and participating in the soundtrack for the Netflix animation. On the August 2 chart (local time) of the U.S. Billboard “Hot 100,” the track “TAKEDOWN (JEONGYEON, JIHYO, CHAEYOUNG)” from the “KPop Demon Hunters” OST album ranked 76th, and “Strategy,” which is also a track from TWICE’s 14th mini album, ranked 92nd, reaffirming their worldwide popularity.
On August 2, TWICE will also take the stage as a headliner at the massive music festival “Lollapalooza Chicago,” held in Grant Park, Chicago, Illinois, continuing their run as a global top-tier girl group.
