“We promised our fans that we’d be back”
BTS unveiled the trailer video and poster for ‘BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG’ on their official SNS at 9 a.m. on the 5th. The video begins with the passionate cheers and chants of ARMY (ARMY, fandom name) that once echoed through past concert venues. Hearing this, the members express emotions such as “We really miss them,” conveying their deep affection toward their fans.
The scene then shifts to Gyeongbokgung Palace along with RM’s narration, “We promised our fans that we’d be back.” Against the backdrop of Gyeongbokgung, where day and night intersect, the members reveal a powerful presence. Phrases such as “THE WORLD’S BIGGEST BAND IS BACK” and “WITNESS THE HOMECOMING” appear on screen, heightening anticipation for their comeback to the maximum. The members said, “We felt that something was changing little by little,” and “We believe that the seven of us can continue walking this path together and keep swimming forward,” expressing strong determination and excitement for their new journey. The poster released along with the video drew attention with the silhouettes of the seven members standing in front of Gwanghwamun.
BTS will release their 5th full-length album ‘ARIRANG’ on the 20th and hold a comeback live event the following day, on the 21st at 8 p.m., in the Gwanghwamun Square area of Seoul. Hamish Hamilton, who directed the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics and the Super Bowl halftime show in the United States, will take the megaphone to present a stage worthy of a global event. Those who cannot attend the venue will be able to watch it live anywhere in the world through Netflix.
Meanwhile, the title track ‘SWIM’ from BTS’s new album ‘ARIRANG’ sings about the attitude of continuing to swim forward without stopping amid the waves of life. It conveys the determination to calmly overcome the incoming currents at one’s own pace as an expression of “love for life.” RM also took charge of the overall lyric writing, adding sincerity to the song’s message.
