KEYVITUP, “Deep Trust in Producer KIM JAE JOONG …Helps Us Focus More on the Stage”

KEYVITUP (HYUNMIN, TAEHWAN, SENA, JAEIN, and RUKIA) expressed their trust and affection for KIM JAE JOONG.

KEYVITUP showed deep trust in KIM JAE JOONG, the head of INKODE. JAEIN said, “He always gives us feedback when we film music videos or shoots,” adding, “On stage, he tells us not to be nervous and to show everything we want before coming down.” She continued, “He also gives us a lot of realistic feedback, which helps us focus more on the stage.”

SENA said, “During the company’s monthly evaluations, he told us that even if results don’t come immediately, if we keep going consistently, results will eventually follow,” while RUKIA shared, “I was stiff from nervousness during the monthly evaluation, but he told me, ‘You have to just try everything you want for your charm to come out,’ and that helped me a lot.”

They also spoke honestly about the pressure of being labeled as “KIM JAE JOONG’s idol.” HYUNMIN said, “He is a great senior whom I truly respect, so there was that much pressure,” adding, “But I felt that if I stayed only in that pressure, I wouldn’t be able to move forward,” and “I like proving myself and growing. It makes me think I need to work even harder.”

Rookie group KEYVITUP held a showcase on the afternoon of the 8th at Shinhan Card SOL Pay Square Live Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul, to celebrate the release of their debut album ‘KEYVITUP’ and officially began their activities.

They also shared their thoughts on debut. SENA said, “Since this is such a dazzling moment, I want to continue growing even more in the future,” and JAEIN expressed her joy, saying, “I feel like I’ve achieved my dream today. I’m excited and looking forward to the future we’ll create together as members.”

RUKIA also said, “I’m still very nervous. We’ve finally debuted,” adding, “A lot happened while preparing, but since we’ve worked hard, we’ll show you many different sides of ourselves,” expressing her determination.
 

KEYVITUP’s first EP album ‘KEYVITUP’ contains a declaration to carve their own path in their own way without following a set answer.

HYUNMIN introduced it as, “An album that contains our ambition to clearly show KEYVITUP’s own color and identity.” The title track ‘KEYVITUP’ is a song that reinterprets old-school hip-hop and boom bap sounds with a modern sensibility.

RUKIA said, “I stayed up all night writing the lyrics. It was really fun working together and sharing ideas,” adding, “I feel confident because I think we came up with great lyrics.”

Regarding the group’s strengths, HYUNMIN expressed confidence, saying, “We use hand microphones when we perform.”

TAEHWAN said, “My strength is my sharp and powerful high notes and vocal tone,” and RUKIA added, “We have a clear on-and-off switch. On stage, I think our charm comes from showing both cool and quirky sides.”

They also revealed their individual role models. RUKIA named KIM JAE JOONG, saying, “My mother was also a fan, and his career as a singer was amazing,” adding, “I respect him because he manages himself so well.” SENA said, “BTS JIMIN is my role model,” adding, “His hard work and performances are incredible.”

JAEIN continued, “I grew up watching SEVENTEEN seniors a lot during my trainee days, so they are my role models, and I hope to meet them someday.” HYUNMIN said, “I think NCT WISH’s SION has a lot to learn from in terms of dance style and leadership attitude,” adding, “I’m studying and looking into it a lot.” Lastly, TAEHWAN said, “RIIZE’s SOHEE is my role model,” adding, “I fell for him while watching how he enjoys not only singing but also dancing,” and “I was captivated by how he enjoys the stage.”

KEYVITUP consists of five members, HYUNMIN, TAEHWAN, SENA, JAEIN, and RUKIA, and is the first boy group produced by singer KIM JAE JOONG under INKODE.

Meanwhile, KEYVITUP’s first EP album ‘KEYVITUP’ and its title track ‘BEST ONE’ will be available on various music platforms today (the 8th) at 6 PM.
