Group Billlie shared their ambition to become “Billlie you can trust and listen to” with the release of their 1st full-length album.

Billlie held a showcase at the SBS Prism Tower Public Hall on the 6th to celebrate the release of their new song ‘ZAP,’ and shared stories about the new album.

Since debuting in November 2021, Billlie has built a unique presence as a “conceptual icon” that organically connects music, performance, and visuals based on solid storytelling. After winning the Emerging Artist Award at the 30th Hanteo Music Awards 2022, they were recognized for their steady growth by winning the Next Wave Award at the 33rd Hanteo Music Awards 2025.

For this new release, members SIYOON, MOON SUA, and HARAM participated in writing lyrics, adding sincerity to the album. With seven new songs, four remix tracks, and the Korean version of the title track from their 1st Japanese mini album, the album contains a total of 12 tracks, bringing together Billlie’s musical capabilities.

Regarding the title track ‘ZAP,’ MOON SUA explained, “Rather than being bound by the past, we expressed the attitude of believing in and choosing who I am now through the short word ‘ZAP.’” SUHYEON recalled, “When I first heard this song, I thought it was a song Billlie could do so well and a stage only Billlie could show.” As for the pre-released double title track ‘WORK,’ she shared, “It is a song that contains the ambition to realize that even my flaws and the sides of myself I wanted to hide are part of me, and to move forward.”

HARUNA said, “Comebacks are always nerve-racking, but since this is our first full-length album, I was even more nervous and tense,” adding, “I want to share our music as soon as possible with Belllie’ve, who have waited for us, and complete the stage together.” SUHYEON said, “I think releasing a full-length album is difficult,” adding, “I’m so grateful to everyone at the company and all the staff, and although there was a hiatus, I’m thankful that we can release a full-length album with a stronger image.”

Behind-the-scenes stories about writing lyrics were also revealed. MOON SUA, who participated in writing lyrics for the double title track ‘WORK,’ shared, “When writing lyrics and rapping, rather than forcing myself to show who I am, I tried to show a cool attitude of ‘this is exactly who I am.’” HARAM, who participated in writing lyrics for the B-side track ‘TBD,’ said, “Writing the lyrics myself helped me a lot in understanding the song and when recording, and I want to continue participating in the future.”

SIYOON, who is also credited on the album, added, “I wanted to express things in our own language,” adding, “I think a good result came out because the members put their sincerity into it.” SHEON said, “I worked hard on writing lyrics, but they weren’t selected this time,” adding, “There will be other opportunities, so I’ll continue participating passionately.”

They also introduced the point choreography. SHEON said, “The point choreography of this album is the hook dance,” explaining, “You can think of it as unlocking a padlock, and once you see it, it will keep coming to mind, so you’ll be able to follow along easily.” TSUKI added, “Since it’s easy to follow, I want to enjoy ‘ZAP’ together with many people through challenges and more.”

They also spoke about the response they hope to receive through this promotion. SUHYEON said, “We want to say that performance is a strength, but songs are also one of our strengths,” adding, “I think I would be happy if people responded positively to the song itself, saying things like ‘Billlie you can trust and listen to’ or ‘This is the kind of song I was waiting for.’” MOON SUA said, “There are still so many sides of Billlie that we want to show the public,” adding, “We enjoy challenging our limits, so we prepared while saying to one another, ‘We’ve done this, but can we do this too? Should we try it?’”

Their efforts for the comeback were also extraordinary. TSUKI said, “Personally, I gave up my soul food, mala xiang guo,” adding, “I’m planning to eat it around next week,” drawing laughter. HARUNA shared, “Each of us directly suggested the styling or hair colors we wanted, so I think each member’s charm stood out well.” SUHYEON said, “Although there was a hiatus, I’m grateful that we can release a full-length album with a stronger image.”

They also shared support from fellow artists at the same agency. SHEON expressed her gratitude, saying, “Producer YOON JONG SHIN was the first to like our Instagram posts every time they went up, and we also plan to film challenges together with seniors SON TAE JIN and LUCY, as well as our juniors ARrC.” TSUKI, who is also receiving great love in entertainment programs, expressed her wish to appear on You Quiz, saying, “Now that group activities are starting, if we get the chance, I want us to go on an entertainment program together as a group, hand in hand.” SIYOON added, “When the members are all together, our energy comes out well, and we’re also quite competitive, so I want to appear on Running Man.”

Billlie’s 1st full-length album ‘the collective soul and unconscious: chapter 2’ will be released today at 6 PM through various online music platforms.
