TUIDE held a showcase for the release of its 1st mini album ‘TUNE & PLAY’ at YES24 Live Hall on the 24th. On this day, SEOYEON said, “She told me that she hopes I will trust and rely on the members, become a support for one another, and carry out activities beautifully together.”

 

SEOYEON shared, “The advice and words of support my older sister, TWICE’s JIHYO, gave me were that the people I will see more often than family are my members, so she hopes I will trust and rely on them, become a support for one another, and carry out activities beautifully together.” Regarding her own strength, she said, “I have loved dancing since I was young, and thankfully, I was cast at a dance academy and joined,” adding, “People have told me that I am quick at picking up choreography and learning, so I think my strength is expressive ability that matches that learning ability.”

 

SEOHEE shared the process of how the members came together, saying, “It is true that the place where we first started training was PLEDIS ENTERTAINMENT,” adding, “At that time, the label abd had not yet been established, so we trained at PLEDIS. During the training process, abd was naturally established, and the seven members joined the label abd together, which is how we came to greet you now as TUIDE.”

 

They also revealed advice from HYBE senior artists. SEAH said, “Our seniors advised us to promote healthily and enjoy the many stages.” JIA added, “Many seniors congratulated us on our debut and told us that debut is only the beginning, so they hoped we would promote healthily and enjoy ourselves.”

 

They also shared advice from producer HAN SUNGSOO, who served as the executive producer. SEOHEE said, “He advised us to treat everyone who helps us during preparations well and to be grateful,” adding, “We are approaching every process with gratitude, and I would also like to once again express my thanks to the reporters who attended today.” ELENA said, “He told us that it is important to find fun even during the practice process, and that left an impression on me,” adding, “We believe that if we enjoy the stage, that energy will also be delivered to those watching, so we are doing our best.”

 

Each member’s strengths were also introduced. SEAH said, “My strengths are my clear vocal tone, which contrasts with my refreshing dance lines, and the flexibility that comes from working as a child model since I was young.” ELENA shared, “With my groovy vocal tone, I have confidence that I can pull off any song well.” SAKI said, “I am usually quiet and calm, but on stage, I let my energy explode, so that unexpected charm is my appeal.” YI HANI introduced herself by saying, “My strengths are my distinctive vocal tone, my ability to digest any song I receive with my own charm, and my high energy.”

 

Regarding the B-side track ‘GRLS,’ SEAH said, “It is a song that introduces seven best friends with different personalities, and it feels like the first greeting sent by TUIDE, who will become friends with the public going forward,” adding, “It contains a bold attitude of moving forward in our own way without going through the gaze of others.” ELENA shared, “Because you can strongly feel the color of the house genre, I was the most excited when I first heard it, and it also had a strong impact.”

 

TUIDE is a seven-member girl group consisting of SEOHEE, SEOYEON, ELENA, JIA, SAKI, SEAH, and YI HANI, and is the first artist from HYBE’s new girl group-specialized label abd. Like the team name, which means “Tune the tide,” the group is determined to add a pleasant rhythm to the public’s everyday lives with its own sensibility. Even before its debut, TUIDE made its presence known by pre-releasing the B-side track ‘GRLS’ and having its ‘Meet my GRLS, TUIDE’ video enter the Top 10 of Spotify’s “Global Music Video” chart for two consecutive weeks.

 

The 1st mini album ‘TUNE & PLAY’ is an album that condenses the power of “harmony” created by the seven members. It contains a total of five songs, including the title track ‘SUN KISS,’ as well as ‘ABD,’ ‘Echo,’ ‘Flip-Flop Girl,’ and ‘GRLS,’ with GroovyRoom producing all tracks. Centered on “soultronic,” which combines the warm sentiment of soul with the sophistication of electronic music, the album flexibly moves across various genres such as R&B, house, and UK garage.
