[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] EVAN honestly shared his feelings about transitioning into a solo artist.

EVAN held a showcase for the release of his 1st mini album ‘DEATH OF ME’ at Kyung Hee University’s Grand Peace Palace on the 7th. On this day, EVAN said, “I will work hard to become an artist who shows an even cooler and more positive influence going forward.”

EVAN recalled, “As I have continued making music, I thought a lot about how I should present my music going forward and in what way I should show it,” adding, “I shared the results of my work with people at the company and had in-depth conversations, and after a long period of consideration, I decided to walk a career path as a solo artist.” He continued, “This 1st mini album is a comeback, but in fact, for me, it is also a new starting point,” pledging, “I will work hard to show many things through music so that I can answer many EVER, our fandom.”

EVAN, who debuted as a member of ENHYPEN in 2020, left the team in April this year and made a fresh start as a solo artist by releasing the digital single ‘Ride or Die’ in June. Opening by saying, “First, I would like to express my great gratitude for the many voices of interest and affection directed toward me,” EVAN shared, “The process of standing on my own was decided after deep discussions, but even so, I deeply understand the disappointment and words of concern from fans.” He continued, “I think the greatest way I can repay that is by answering through music and sincere actions going forward, and I will work hard to become an artist who continues to show more wonderful and positive influence.”

Regarding ENHYPEN, which achieved a career high by topping Billboard’s main chart with its first comeback after EVAN’s departure, he added, “I feel very proud,” adding, “I also think the best thing I can do is work hard in my own place and show a good side of myself.”

EVAN’s 1st mini album ‘DEATH OF ME’ is an album that captures the process of facing his most honest self. It contains a total of eight songs, including the title track ‘DEATH OF ME,’ as well as ‘Not Enough,’ ‘Noise,’ ‘Ride or Die,’ ‘Twilight,’ ‘Immature,’ ‘Overflow,’ and ‘Going Home.’ EVAN led the overall lyric writing, composition, and production process, proving his abilities as a self-producing artist.

EVAN’s new album ‘DEATH OF ME’ will be released at 6 PM on this day. Attention is focused on what kind of presence EVAN, who has taken a new first step as a solo artist, will establish with this album.
