Group SEVENTEEN’s Vernon is taking one step forward as an artist through the ‘Black Eye.’

 

SEVENTEEN Vernon released his first solo mixtape, ‘Black Eye,’ at 2 PM on the 23rd through famous music sites such as iTunes, Spotify, and Apple Music, and the global music platform SoundCloud.

 

‘Black Eye’ is a pop-punk genre song that combines a casual vocal and cheerful band sound, featuring a free and rebellious mood. Vernon forms a consensus with ‘Black Eye,’ which suits his unique low-toned voice, relieving listeners’ frustration and stress.

 

Vernon, who participated in the composition and lyrics of ‘Black Eye’ and contained honest and straightforward lyrics, delivered a question-and-answer through his agency Pledis Entertainment.

 

Q. How do you feel about releasing your first solo mixtape?

A. I learned a lot in the process of preparing for my first solo mixtape, ‘Black Eye,’ and I think this work will be a good nourishment for me to grow as an artist in the future.

 

Q. What is the charm of the mixtape ‘Black Eye’?  

A. The pop-punk genre, which deals with various emotions such as anger, depression, and loneliness, is attractive, and I captured an image that I had not shown before in ‘Black Eye.’ I hope you listen to it a lot.

 

Q. You participated in writing and composing ‘Black Eye’ and captured the image of ‘Artist Vernon.’ Vernon, what did you want to show with ‘Black Eye’?  

A. A wild and free look!

 

Q. What’s your favorite part of the lyrics of ‘Black Eye,’ which has the charm of straightforward lyrics?  

A. Put a muzzle on me, I'll spit in your mouth

 

Q. What was the most memorable episode while preparing for this mixtape?

A. I remember the most from the world tour when I was preparing for ‘Black Eye.’ So, it was hectic throughout the entire process, but I was excited to show it to CARATs as soon as possible.

 

Q. If you could express ‘Black Eye’ in one word?  

A. Bruised eyes!
