ITZY held a countdown live broadcast for their new mini album Girls Will Be Girls and celebrated their first comeback of the year.
On June 9 at 6 PM, ITZY released their new album Girls Will Be Girls along with its title track of the same name. At 5 PM, they hosted a countdown live broadcast on the group’s YouTube channel to communicate with global MIDZY (fandom name: MIDZY).
During the countdown live on comeback day, YEJI, LIA, RYUJIN, CHAERYEONG, and YUNA shared their excitement, saying, “We’re happy to greet MIDZY as a full group for the first time in 8 months.” They introduced the key points of the new song’s performance, heightening anticipation for the comeback stage of the ‘K-pop Performance Queens.’ With track-specific talk topics, they showcased their cheerful banter and reminisced about past interviews, reflecting on the special moments made even more meaningful by being together as five members, sharing precious memories with fans.
Wrapping up the countdown live filled with lively stories and upbeat energy, ITZY said, “While preparing for this album, we experienced something new that we hadn't done before. It was a joyful and meaningful time, and we hope our efforts and hearts are well delivered to our fans. We’d be grateful if you enjoy the album that we put a lot of thought into, and we’ll continue to work hard to meet your expectations.”

TZY presents a brilliant narrative with the theme of ‘solidarity as us’ in their new album Girls Will Be Girls. Through the five tracks included in the album, title track Girls Will Be Girls, Kiss & Tell, Locked N Loaded, Promise, and Walk, they portray the stronger bond they share when they’re together as five.
The music video for the new song, filmed in Georgia, features a mysterious atmosphere and a solid story structure. The five members face off against a creature called ‘Eyebird,’ which symbolizes the world’s gaze and prejudice. They run, resist, and never let go of each other’s hands, continuing forward even under constant scrutiny, conveying the message that nothing is fearful when they’re together.
The new mini album Girls Will Be Girls topped the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart on June 9, and as of 8 AM on the 10th, it ranked No.1 on the iTunes Top Album Chart in five regions including Hong Kong, India, and Singapore. The music video also reached No.1 on YouTube’s Worldwide Trending Music Videos chart, proving the heated excitement of their comeback.
Fueled by the strengthened bond between members who are always on each other’s side, and the unity of ITZY and MIDZY, ITZY is making a bold comeback, filling this summer with thrilling energy. From June 10 to 15, they are hosting a pop-up store at The Hyundai Seoul in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, offering a variety of fun experiences.
