SHOWNU X HYUNGWON shared an update on member I.M, who is currently serving in the military.

 

SHOWNU X HYUNGWON met with Hanteo News at STARSHIP Entertainment’s headquarters in Seoul on the 19th and spoke about various topics. On this day, HYUNGWON shared an update on the youngest member I.M, saying, “I think we contact each other more often than before he went to the military, and he’s doing so well.”

 

When asked about the story of the music video, SHOWNU explained, “It’s not that HYUNGWON and I are in love with each other. You can think of MONBEBE as being between us,” adding, “It contains a story where we play tug-of-war with each other, have a battle of nerves, fight, and then make up.”

 

Unexpected sides of them were also captured on set. HYUNGWON said, “I don’t think I’ve ever seen SHOWNU hyung get angry in nearly 10 years, but while filming the music video and concept photos, I saw him getting angry, so it was ‘new,’ ‘fun,’ and a special experience because I got to see, ‘So this is how hyung gets angry,’” adding, “I think fans will probably be seeing it for the first time too, so it could come across as fun.” SHOWNU shared, “I don’t think I could express anger with my face, so I expressed it through my actions,” adding, “I have a calm image, so I tried to bring that out and elevate it.” He then added with a laugh, “I don’t think the way I get angry looked particularly cool or anything like that.”

 

Although the two have been together for over 10 years, they shared a new kind of connection through this work. SHOWNU revealed, “While preparing this album, we talked more than we had over the past 10 years,” adding, “We also connected a lot while acting, and while it felt unfamiliar, I think there were also parts we worked on enjoyably.” HYUNGWON shared, “When our first album came out, there were awkward parts and lacking parts, but since this is our second time, we became more familiar with it, and I think we were able to include more of the chemistry we can show.”

 

They also revealed specific moments of connection. SHOWNU said, “I think getting angry while looking into each other’s eyes, lightly hitting each other’s cheeks, or bumping bodies while wearing rugby outfits were all parts of that connection,” adding, “It was a feeling I experienced again after a very long time.”

 

They also spoke about the synergy that emerges when the two are together. SHOWNU explained, “Rather than filling in what I lack, HYUNGWON plays a big role in adding more,” adding, “Instead of the two of us becoming one and showing perfect coordination together, we have a synergy where you can see a one-plus-one effect.” HYUNGWON said, “I think our advantage is that hyung has a completely different vibe from me, starting from how we look, so viewers can feel a variety of charms,” adding, “On stage as well, hyung perfectly fills in the parts I can’t show, so the synergy is even better.”

 

When asked if they are the quiet combination within the team, SHOWNU and HYUNGWON burst into laughter at the same time. HYUNGWON said, “If the youngest, I.M, is there too, the three of us compete,” adding, “When those three gather, I’m the one who talks the most.” SHOWNU chimed in, “When we’re together privately, it’s about half and half, but in public activities, HYUNGWON tends to talk a little more.”

 

They also shared news about the youngest member, I.M. HYUNGWON said, “He’s adapting much better than expected and seems to be working hard too,” adding, “He always gives us updates like how many shooting rounds he did, how many push-ups he did, and what place he came in for running.” SHOWNU laughed and said, “Inside there, things like that are important,” and HYUNGWON added, “They’re results of working hard, and vacations depend on them too.”

 

SHOWNU X HYUNGWON’s second mini album ‘Love Me’ will be released through various music streaming sites at 6 PM on the 21st. Attention is focused on whether the unit SHOWNU X HYUNGWON, returning after about three years, will showcase greater expansion through this album.
