FLARE U’s CHUEI LI YU revealed the special nickname he wants to be called by.
FLARE U held a showcase at Blue Square Woori WON Banking Hall on the 13th to celebrate the release of their new song ‘WAY 2 U.’ On this day, CHUEI LI YU shared that he wants fans to call him a “vitamin vending machine.”
When asked what kind of team they want to be remembered as by fans, CHUEI LI YU said, “It might sound funny, but personally I want to have the nickname ‘vitamin vending machine,’” adding, “These days vitamins are essential items in daily life and many people make sure to take them, so whenever fans want or need it, I hope they can receive energy from us anytime.” When MC YOO JAE PIL joked that “a vending machine should dispense something right away” and asked for vitamins on the spot, CHUEI LI YU immediately struck a cute pose without hesitation, drawing laughter from the audience.
FLARE U is a duo group consisting of CHUEI LI YU and KANG WOO JIN, who gained recognition for their skills and potential through Mnet’s ‘Boys 2 Planet,’ which aired last year. Throughout the program, the two received much love from fans for their extraordinary teamwork, and after continuously supporting each other by attending one another’s fan meetings, they finally united as one team. Ahead of their debut, they also met global fans for the first time by performing at ‘KCON JAPAN 2026.’
Their debut album ‘YOUTH ERROR’ depicts the process of two different youths coming together to form one light. The title track ‘WAY 2 U’ captures the excitement of moving from friends to lovers, and along with tracks such as ‘Hyper’ and ‘WOO-HOO,’ the album contains a total of six songs that deliver FLARE U’s unique youthful energy.
KANG WOO JIN introduced the album by saying, “It is an album that contains the stories of two youths with different flaws who stumble and fall,” adding, “It means that CHUEI LI YU and KANG WOO JIN meet as one team, complement each other, and shine together as one light.”
Regarding the title track, CHUEI LI YU said, “It portrays someone realizing feelings that suddenly began like a phone vibration, going beyond friendship, and running toward the other person without hesitation,” adding, “It’s refreshing and cute, so I think fans will like it, and I also liked it because it feels like lyrics directed toward the fans.”
KANG WOO JIN continued, “The choreography is really cute and each part has its own story, so people can enjoy it in a fun way,” adding, “The choreography for ‘WAY 2 U’ connects to the story of the choreography for ‘Hyper.’ While ‘WAY 2 U’ contains the story up until the moment of confession, ‘Hyper’ has choreography expressing the story of two people becoming connected through a red string.”
CHUEI LI YU said, “Personally, I think our album jacket is really pretty,” adding, “We’re also wearing these outfits today, and I think the cute twin-look style and the fresh atmosphere that we can show because we’re rookies come across really well.”
FLARE U’s 1st mini album ‘YOUTH ERROR’ will be released today at 6 PM through various online music platforms. Expectations are high for what kind of presence FLARE U, the newly emerged ‘youth visual duo’ in the K-pop scene, will establish with their first album.
