[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] ONF SEUNGJUN revealed the behind-the-scenes story of the group’s agency transfer and their determination going forward.

 

ONF held a showcase at Sangam Cube Convention Center on the 17th to commemorate the release of the 2nd part of its 2nd full-length album 'ONF:MY SELF.' On this day, SEUNGJUN said, “We talked a lot about finding the future we want to pursue and create, and that is how we came to transfer agencies.”

 

Regarding the process of deciding to transfer, SEUNGJUN said, “We shared a very long journey with our previous company, and within that, we still hold on to many things we learned and many good memories,” adding, “The members thought a lot about our future and our direction going forward, and we really talked a lot as well.” He continued, “The members’ opinions were divided in many ways, but we still aligned those opinions one by one and talked a lot about finding the future we want to pursue and create, and that is how we came to transfer.”

 

WYATT said, “SEUNGJUN hyung said, ‘Isn’t it such a waste? We can do more. We have endured this much, so can’t we endure this a little more?’ That one sentence moved my heart, and I think it moved the members’ hearts as well,” adding, “That sentence was the most memorable.” U said, “We had the desire to challenge ourselves together once again in a new environment, and because we believe we learned a lot and grew a lot at our previous company, we feel grateful.” SEUNGJUN pledged, “There is a lyric in one of our songs that says, ‘Because it will be a beginning called the end,’” adding, “We will open our Act 3 like that as well.”

 

When asked about the secret to staying together, HYOJIN said, “I think our goals were all the same, and because we deeply trust one another and believe our teamwork is really good, we made that decision with the thought that there may be even better results if we all stay together.” WYATT said, “Over a long period of time, we really came to know so much, and I think we also fought a lot with each other,” adding, “Even so, we truly became family, so when we said we were transferring agencies, I think it naturally happened.” SEUNGJUN added, “I think the biggest secret is delivering our honest feelings to one another without hiding anything.”

 

Regarding their goals going forward, HYOJIN said, “We want to hold concerts in much larger concert venues than now, and we are running toward our goals while also hoping to put ONF’s name on digital music charts more often,” adding, “We are moving forward with hope and positive thoughts, believing that we will someday be able to achieve those goals.”

 

ONF, which debuted in August 2017, has built a distinctive musical world with unique music and powerful performances through songs such as 'We Must Love,' 'Beautiful Beautiful,' and 'Moscow Moscow,' earning the modifier “a trusted source of great songs.” With Part 1 of its 2nd full-length album, 'ONF: MY IDENTITY,' released in February last year, the group recorded 111,789 copies in initial chodong sales, breaking its own initial chodong record. With the title track 'The Stranger,' ONF achieved its first No. 1 on a terrestrial music show on KBS2’s Music Bank, while the music video surpassed 10 million views in just two days after release, continuing meaningful achievements.

 

This 2nd part of ONF’s 2nd full-length album, 'ONF:MY SELF,' continues the narrative of Part 1 and contains a story of choosing oneself at the end of a journey. It includes a total of six tracks, including the title track 'Open The Door,' and captures ONF’s unique identity, with leader SEUNGJUN participating in the overall album planning, U in performance directing, and WYATT and MINKYUN in writing lyrics and composing.

 

ONF’s 2nd full-length album Part 2 'ONF:MY SELF' will be released through various online music sites at 6 PM on this day. Attention is focused on what new step ONF will take with this album.
