[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] Keyveatz Newy emphasized the strong chemistry among the members.

 

Keyveatz held a showcase at YES24 Wonderloch Hall on the 30th to commemorate the release of its 1st mini album ‘OXY_GEN.’ On this day, Newy said, “We are a team where not a single one of the five members can be missing.”

 

When asked about what differentiates Keyveatz within AOMG’s rebranding, Newy said, “Each member of Keyveatz has a distinct color, and each of us feels like a puzzle piece that absolutely cannot be replaced by anyone else,” adding, “We are a team where not a single one of the five members can be missing, and both what we are good at and what suits us are very clear.” Kang Yeseul added, “What makes us different is that the five members are moving toward the same goal with different talents,” adding, “Not only music, but also things like art and fashion are points we are pursuing together.” Son Juone said, “Friends who make music that we are good at and love — I think that is Keyveatz.”

 

Regarding their thoughts on debuting, Son Juone said, “As the leader, I felt a sense of mission because of the responsibility to lead the members, but when the team name Keyveatz was decided and we said, ‘Let’s do this,’ I was so happy and had mixed emotions.” Newy said, “Whenever I faced various difficulties while preparing for debut, I thought of my parents in Japan, and each time, the members embraced me like family. I was so grateful, and thanks to them, I was able to hold on until here.” Um Jione said, “Since I am the youngest, the unnies really adored me and took care of me, so I thought even more that I had to do well, and it gave me strength.”

 

Kim Yuna, who joined last, said, “At first, I worried a lot, but the other three members welcomed me so warmly, and because they are such talented friends, even though I joined late, I worked hard to match their rhythm as if we had been together from the beginning.” Kang Yeseul also added, “I am very shy, so I wondered whether I would be able to get close to them, but they were much more encouraging than I expected, and the members respected one another like a real family, so I was able to naturally become part of Keyveatz,” adding, “Thanks to them, I think my personality also changed a lot in a good direction.”

 

Regarding the team’s goals, Kang Yeseul said, “Our biggest goal is that we want to become iconic,” adding, “I hope our own genre becomes clear enough that we can become someone’s motto, and as a short-term goal, I want to win No. 1 on a music show at least once.” Um Jione said, “I hope the team Keyveatz also develops such a clear color that one day, people will start using the phrase ‘Keyveatz-like.’”

 

When asked how it felt to debut after experiencing elimination from a survival program, Newy said, “The survival program was a very big challenge, and after the show ended, when the CEOs of H1GHR MUSIC and AOMG talked to me about a girl crew, I thought, ‘I really want to do this. This feels like the place I belong,’ and came from Japan to Korea,” adding, “Now that we are the five members of Keyveatz, I feel like I would not be able to meet members like this anywhere else.” Um Jione said, “When the three of us first practiced together, we relied on each other a lot, and compared to when we were filming the program, I think we have grown in many ways,” adding, “The biggest point is that we became much stronger inside and all three of us grew into all-rounders.” Son Juone added, “I am so happy, surprised, and grateful that the five of us were able to debut at AOMG as Keyveatz.”

 

Keyveatz is the first girl crew introduced by AOMG since its founding and the next-generation runner in AOMG’s 2.0 rebranding project, 'Make It New.' The team name contains both the group’s direction to become the “key” that creates a new flow and its ambition to make a bold move, or “kibitz.” Ahead of its official debut, the group released the pre-release double single 'Key Beats' in April and proved its solid live performance capabilities by appearing at major domestic and overseas festivals and 18 university festivals, including 'KCON JAPAN 2026' and '2026 Seoul Park Music Festival.'

 

Debut EP 'OXY_GEN' is an album that symbolizes Keyveatz as a group that constantly moves, collides, and creates its own flow. It contains a total of five tracks, including the title track 'OXY,' 'SUCK IT UP,' for which all members participated in writing lyrics, composing, and arranging, 'SUB_ZERO,' featuring punchnello, and the pre-release tracks 'Key Beats' and 'Catch My Breath.'

 

Keyveatz’s 1st mini album 'OXY_GEN' will be released through various online music sites at 6 PM on this day. Attention is focused on what kind of new flow Keyveatz, which takes subculture and underground culture as its DNA, will create in the K-POP and hip-hop scenes.
