[Hanteo News = Reporter KANG SUYOUNG] Keyveatz Kang Yeseul revealed the meaning behind the team name.

 

Keyveatz held a showcase at YES24 Wonderloch Hall on the 30th to commemorate the release of its 1st mini album ‘OXY_GEN.’ On this day, Yeseul said, “Musicality, artistry, and visuals are the move we will make.”

 

Regarding the team name, Son Juone explained, “It contains our desire to become the key that creates a new flow, and the meaning of reading the scene and making a move.” Kang Yeseul added, “The move we make could be many things. First, it could be musicality, second, artistry, and third, visuals.” Newy said, “I think Keyveatz, which includes all of those things, is the move,” adding, “We want these moves to come together and create a new flow where people think of Keyveatz when they hear girl crew.”

 

Regarding the expression “girl crew,” Kim Yuna said, “I think a crew is not something created by a concept, but something that begins with attitude,” adding, “Making the attitudes of subculture and underground culture our DNA and creating unpredictable individuality and style is the identity of the girl crew we define, as well as Keyveatz’s differentiated strength.”

 

Introducing the album, Kang Yeseul said, “The name combines OXY, meaning oxygen, and GEN from generation,” adding, “It is an album that symbolizes Keyveatz as a new generation that constantly moves, collides, and creates its own flow.” Um Jione added, “The album contains more of the process than the result,” adding, “It is an album that captures Keyveatz as we collide more boldly and move forward, rather than trying to be perfect.”

 

Regarding the title track, Son Juone said, “We are aiming to become an all-rounder group that covers every position, including vocals, dance, and rap,” adding, “This title track really highlights the performance aspect.” Kim Yuna introduced it by saying, “‘OXY’ is a song that continuously heightens the mood with a fast-paced melody and rough, driving rhythm,” adding, “It is the song that can best show Keyveatz’s intense energy.” Um Jione said, “In one word, it is a song that expresses Keyveatz’s fierce determination through performance,” adding, “We would be grateful if you watch us closely with your eyes wide open.”

 

Regarding their music style, Um Jione said, “Our goal is to become a bridge between subculture and popular culture while showing not only hip-hop, but also diverse music styles,” adding, “We would be grateful if you look forward to many different sides of us.”

 

Keyveatz is the first girl crew introduced by AOMG since its founding and the next-generation runner in AOMG’s 2.0 rebranding project, 'Make It New.' Ahead of its official debut, the group released the pre-release double single 'Key Beats' in April and proved its solid live performance capabilities by appearing at major domestic and overseas festivals and 18 university festivals, including 'KCON JAPAN 2026' and '2026 Seoul Park Music Festival.'

 

Debut EP 'OXY_GEN' is an album that symbolizes Keyveatz as a group that constantly moves, collides, and creates its own flow. It contains a total of five tracks, including the title track 'OXY,' 'SUCK IT UP,' for which all members participated in writing lyrics, composing, and arranging, 'SUB_ZERO,' featuring punchnello, and the pre-release tracks 'Key Beats' and 'Catch My Breath.'

 

Keyveatz’s 1st mini album 'OXY_GEN' will be released through various online music sites at 6 PM on this day. Attention is focused on what kind of new flow Keyveatz, which takes subculture and underground culture as its DNA, will create in the K-POP and hip-hop scenes.
